This pop up showroom was designed to have as much visual impact as possible for social media over a brief 2 week installation.

Set within a white box gallery space the brand’s high maximalist aesthetic was presented within a series of reimagined packing crates. The contrast of high verse low provided a witty yet functional backdrop for private sales appointments and social events.

Alémais - Dubai

This Pop Up for brand Alémais showcased it’s vibrant prints against a soft colour wrap and the contrasting strength of angular sculptural elements.

An emphasis was placed on using a minimum of materials while creating a maximum visual impact to pull focus within a multi brand space.

Pangaia Pop Up Concept

Reflecting the core values of Pangaia this project focuses on the exclusive use of sustainable materials. The concept provides a re-usable and adaptable kit of parts that flat packs for shipping with as minimal environmental impact as possible.

Comprising of a huddle of translucent prism like structures which symbolise the relationships between nature and science. References include a green house as symbol of growth and nature, a pavilion as a space to gather, a temple of meditative reflection and a lantern as a beacon of colour, light and hope.

A revolving heptagonal laboratory within Selfridges main window created a centre piece with an ever changing spectrum of light radiating from a central prism. Customers within explored a show case of the seven patented Pangaia technologies at the core of the brands product range.

Currently relocated to Tsum Moscow the concept will continue to appear in new locations around the globe in the near furture.

Retail Pop Up Design

A 100 sqm stand alone retail space responding to the clients request for a playful modern take on the charm and eccentricities of an English country house - washed in warm tints of Autumnal light.

Created during the Covid restrictions of October 2020 with limits on customer numbers, priority was focused on providing a high visual impact that would draw attention and translate well for social media and press.

Mini Mart On Mount Street

This playful customer experience popped up for the summer in the heart of London's Mayfair reinterpreting the wit and ironic presentation of the recent Anya Hindmarch LFW show.

Inspired by the graphics of vintage cereal boxes and other iconic grocery brands the colourful leather goods were displayed amongst the fittings and paraphernalia of a quintessential London corner shop.

A product collaboration with Kelloggs delivered sell out limited edition cereal boxes to super markets nation wide and celebrated Anya’s ethos of “recreating the every day in an extraordinary way”

London Fashion Week Shows

As a member of the Executive Creative Team at Anya Hindmarch I contributed to all aspects of the seasonal shows including product and show concepts, show production, marketing treatments and held  responsibility for the design and delivery of the accompanying international showroom spaces.

Customer Experience

Each season a global program of pop ups and in store events were executed to engage the customer with witty and interactive takes on the seasonal collections and LFW show themes. As well as spreading the  excitement of the brand to new territories, these treatments periodical re-energised our own stores and events,  providing rich layers for both the customers and the staff to enjoy.

It was my responsibility to develop the concepts and ensure they were produced on time and budget each season, in each location.

One example of this was a series of domino exhibits after the A/W show that saw 50,000 dominos set up over 7 days prior to show day. This was a one shot, no rehearsal, heart in your mouth moment - where a cascade of dominos toppled to reveal the collection beneath. Smaller domino shows were then rolled out to stores and showrooms for customer and press events. These were teamed with a "humanised" venting machine linked to a customising app on the brand's web site which dispensed personalised gifts based on an 'ANYAGRAM" of each customer's name.

Other seasons explored the repetition and reflection of graphic print with a pop up program of a Hall of Mirrors experience and Anya's childhood version of customisation in the Sticker Shop that has gone on to become an on going iconic marketing tool and product category for the brand.

Still Life

A series  of still life campaigns. The stacking images of found objects  were hands on projects where I built the set pieces myself around the theme of each collection.

The images with the black backgrounds were created over 3 seasons in collaboration with the agency DJA and shot by photographer Juila Hetta.

Seasonal Creative Concepts

As a member of the Executive Creative Team at Anya Hindmarch I contributed to all stages of the design and marketing process including collection, show and campaign concepts.

I was also responsible for the design and installation of the corresponding showrooms in London, Paris, New York and Tokyo and all Global  pop ups, events, VM and window treatments.

These examples showcase the arch of the creative concept for the Autumn Winter 2016 collection which examined pixelation and colour: the building blocks of digital design. Inspiration was taken from early 8 bit graphics and pioneering arcade games.

The show set was created from 3 dimensional sliding and illuminated pixels which moved and spoke through out the show posing the question: Do computers dream when they sleep?

This concept was then translated into a print and digital campaign of images and animations of pixelated models.  Pop up spaces were created through out the season in Tokyo, Osaka  and Shanghai. Where customers were invited to have their digital portraits taken and build their own bags embellished with the pixelated straps and stickers of the collection. The pixelation theme then flowed on through into the Global seasonal window treatments.

Madison Avenue Flagship Store

A collaboration with Ilse Crawford Studio on this New York flagship project for Anya Hindmarch - where I was responsible for the Creative Direction.

This was the first store to showcase both the mainline and Bespoke collections together under one roof - where customers are invited to explore the workroom space and witness the crafts people at work. Antique furniture was purposely subverted and re-imagined, in playful and intriguing ways.

Anya Hindmarch Selfridges Carpark

An entire floor of Selfridges carpark was transformed into a Service Station themed installation - the first retail residency to be housed in this part of the London store.

As well as a first chance to shop the runway collection the week long pop up offered a plethora of playful customer experiences including a 'Hot' car wash themed photo station, gifting kiosk with exclusive Service Station merchandise and a Little Chef cafe.

As Creative Director on this project I designed the concept and headed a freelance team on production and execution.

Product Concepts

Working closely with Anya and the designers  I would contribute ideas and concepts for products each season. An example of this is the Crisp Packet clutch that went on to be come an iconic and best selling piece for the brand.

Anya Hindmarch Bespoke

Housed in the original Anya Hindmarch store on Pont Street this space showcases any entire Bespoke collection, as well as a workshop for the customising of products. Here the customer is invited in to engage with the craftsman and add their own embossed messages and customising details. A treasure trove of ideas with traditional details and craftsmanship at the heart of this store for the ultimate in gift giving.

This concept was rolled out Globally in Flagship Stores in London, New York, LA and Tokyo and in concessions in Harrods and Bergdorf Goodman. Pop up treatments were developed and executed in Hong Kong and Selfridges.

As Creative Director on this project I designed and over saw all creative aspects  and project managed the International roll out of this concept.

Store Development

Heading the global shop fit program for Anya Hindmarch I over saw store openings in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles and multiple sites in Japan, China, South Korea and the Middle East.

I collaborated with many furniture designers and artists and worked in conjunction with local architects, contractors and franchise partners.

Show cased here are the flagship stores on Melrose Place in LA and Aoyama Tokyo.

Santa on the Rooftop Fenwick Newcastle

Christmas 2018. A 5000 sq ft set piece of festive fun and frivolity on the 5th floor roof top of Fenwick Newcastle. The excitement and anticipation of visits to Santa are some of my most magical and memorable feelings of Christmas. Layered on top of those I wanted to recreate the childhood thrill of stepping out of bounds. An invitation of sorts to explore a place you wouldn't usually be permitted to go, and to discover there something truly playful and thrilling.

All the delightfully traditional elements are included but wrapped with a twist of the unexpected. Reindeer joke with each other in Geordie accents, as an intriguing carpark of Elf-mobiles entices you to sit behind their tiny wheels. Will you find the Tree of Lost Mittens as the snow begins to fall in the forest? And was that really your name spotted flashing on Santa's computer screen with a behavioural update?!

I like to think if Charles Grey was to pivot 180 a top his monument, he would behold upon the roof top of Fenwick Newcastle a magical place of anticipation, discovery and delight. A secret place where memories are made.

VM Concept

Working with Corbin & King, the team behind iconic Grand Cafe The Wolseley, I developed and instigated the visual merchandising concept for the launch of their lifestyle products and first retail opening in July 2018.

Alémais Retail Concept

A global concept for Department Store roll out this playful concept frames the brand’s vibrant prints with earthy tones and a surreal twist.
